Batman Dark Knight Rises Film Review

Batman Dark Knight Rises Film Review
Batman Dark Knight Rises the final film in the batman trilogy directed by Christopher Nolan. Every Batman film has never ceased to amaze us everytime, and the Dark Knight Rises is no exception. In the latest instalment of the Batmann franchise, Tom Hardy otherwise known as Bane plays the main role of the villian. Many people said this film could never beat The Dark Knight the second in the trilogy because the Joker was the ultimate villian. Bane on the other hand a number 1 mercenary could be an even better antagonist than the Heath Ledgers legendary creation of the joker.
The Dark Knight Rises is about a group of mercanaries wanting to take over Gotham City and destroy it; they will go to extreme extents to do this; they’ll even bury every police officer underground, how they will do this is unknown to us. Bane collects as many people as he can to take over the city, but he doesnt want money, he seeks to finish the work of Rashal Goul played by Liam Neeson in the first installment Batman Begins. Bane was part of the elite squad as was Bruce wayne (christian Bale) now the Batman was part of the elite squad, but ran away and left the elite squad. Now Bane is back to kill the Batman and destroy Gotham once and for all.
The final installment also has another treat for us, Anne Hathaway plays the character Catwoman. Catwomen the sexy acrobatic cat lady is in this final installment but no one is too sure if she is good or bad, she has to choose which path she will take, will she help Batman destroy Bane or will she work with Bane to destroy Gotham.

The film is a 2 and a half hour film but every minute of this film is action packed excitment, there is not one moment that is boring, everything that a great film should have, this film has it, it ticks all the boxes that a great big film should have. The action unlike some films can be slow, this is nothing like that, this is one of a kind, action is fast and action packed, we never get bored. People can get bored of guns, fights, explosions, but this film has enough of the action side, but the story is phenominal, it keeps you engaged and constantly, you never want to pause to get a drink or toilet because every moment in this film is engaging with the audience.
Quite a few films characters are just people in the film and we dont have much feelings for them and we dont really care if the person dies, but all of the characters we want to live but never know if they will live, we want to be there to help them out. One charachter I personally really connected with is the Police Officer played by Joseph Gordon-Levitt, in the last few years Josheph has really made a name of himself and become loved by the world. The reason I connected with him the most is because in the the film he plays a police officer who has just joined the force and wants to make a good start, he in the end comes across guns blazzing, but he isnt the action hero that could save the day, he thinks about things and is logical, he gets proted to detective in the film because of how good his logical mind is and the way he thinks about things.
Director Christopher Nolan has finished the Batman films now, but he has set a very high bar for other action super hero films, other directors will really struggle to try and beat the Batman films, Superhero films can be very hard to make and to try and get the public to enjoy it, Batman is the fastest selling superhero film of all time, its also the most popular, for Christopher Nolan as a director to create a superhero film that everyone loves and wants more of is something to be very proud of! He has created a bar for superhero films which will be extremely hard to beat. It will really take something special to make films in general better than the Batman trilogy.

Gangsta Squad Review

Gangsta Squad Review

About the film

Gangsta Squad goes back to the old godfather rules, it's a great old fashioned gangsta film with their smart Italian suits, top hots and the cigars. The year is 1949 and ruthless gangsta Mikey Cohen played by Sean Penn has the city of Loa Angeles in his grip! Against a gang protected by rampant corruption, Chief Bill Parker played by Nick Nolte who resorts to extremes. He enlists battle-hardened hero Sgt. John O'mara played by Josh Brolin to form a unit to exact vigilante justice. Their job isn't to make arrests but to make war. As the city explodes in a wall of gunfire, jaded cop Sgt. Jerry Wooters played by award winning Ryan Gosling is reluctantly drawn into the fight as he falls for Grace Faraday played by Emma Stone, the elegant beauty whom Cohen claims as his own. This film is also based on an incredible true story , Gangsta Squad blows open the secret files of the cops who fought for L.A's true soul.

Personal opinion

Gangsta Squad is surprisingly one of my favourite films I have seen, I'm not a big fan of old fashioned films for one and I am not a fan of gangsta films but this film had so,etching other films like this don't. The story does help as it really is a very tense movie with lots of action! I was surprised at the amount of violence in the film from start to finish, but they make it look so real and not stupid which quite a few modern films do nowadays. The actors are also casted very well, one of my personal favourite actors Ryan Gosling has a certain charm in his role of the police officers from when he is chatting up the lady's and in his ruthless gunfights. The film from start to finish is a movie masterpiece it has everything a film should have but it's very believable, there isn't one moment in the film where you think it would never happen, but it is definitely a film worth watching. I would recommend if you were purchasing the film to get it on blue-ray because there are a lot of slow motion shots, especially the scenes where there is lots of gun fire.

Fast and Furious 6 Review

Fast and Furious 6 Review

Fast and Furious 6 is one of those films you will just want to see because of the other films thinking its going to be amazing and reading all these reviews and seeing the 5 star ratings. Yes it is an extrememly good film but its not the best one in the series. Its a very fast paced action movie with lots of cars, guns and racing. They have luckily brought back more of a variety of cars and kept the fast rediculous driving. Lots of people said Fast and Furious used to be all about the cars but they followed the story more and lost the cars element of it but luckily they have found a way to balance them both together which I think makes the film a lot better.

The story

The 6th film follows on from straight after the 5th one, the opening scene is Dom and Brian finishing off their race in the Dodge Challenger and the Nissan GTR. They all go there seperate ways living off in their millions from their job in Rio but Dom and Brian still remain best friends and with Brian a father now they become even closer. Agent Hobbs played by 'Dwayne Johnson' quickly finds them and instead of coming to arrest them he asks for their trust and for their help. The team once again come together as what they constantly call 'family'. They find out Dom's old lover letty is still alive but has lost all memory of her past, including her friendship with the crew. They all work together to track down a ruthless murderer who just wants to cause pain and suffering but they know exactly what Dom and his crew and going to do.

Personal Opinion

Fast and Furious 6 don't get me wrong but I don't think it's the best out of the lot, but it's got a mixture of the old style fast and furious as well as the new story of fast and furious. They go back to the street races with custom made cars which I think what some people miss in the franchise. Some of the action is amazing but if you have seen the film I think most will agree that some of it is quite rediculous where Letty falls off this long and very high bridge and Dom crashes his car in such a way that he literally flies into Letty and lands on the other side of the bridge. I've also heard lots of people mentioning about the run way at the airport in the final bit of the film and how long it goes on for, I noticed it when I watched the film too, this final takedown lasts about 15 minutes and in the whole 15 minutes the plane is taking off and is about 50 metres from the ground and it continues at that altitude until the end of the film and it makes it very unbelievable if I'm honest. But despite all of that its not a bad film, they have still got what I love in the fast and furious films which is the humour of Tyrese Gibson, and in this film he doesn't fail to entertain. The cars are also as wacky as ever such as the vintage ford to the Ferrari Enzo. I do think its a very good film but its just a pretty average film but when I saw it in the cinema I did think there was one thing where it tripped over itself, they mention that London is the most watched capital in the world but about 10 minutes after the go to a street race gathering where we meet the famous RitaOra and street race straight through the middle of London. I would recommend giving it a watch but I would wait until it becomes available on DVD/BlueRay.
